This 3 day desert tour is available to guests staying at any hotel in the resorts of Hammamet, Yasmine Hammamet, Port El Kantaoui, Sousse and Skanes/Monastir.
Itinerary:
This desert tour normally departs on Tuesdays throughout the year.
Day One
We depart early in the morning from your resort hotel for our first stop in the Holy City of Kairouan - declared a World Cultural site by UNESCO in 1988. Visit the Great Mosque, the Mosque of the Three Doors in the Medina and Kairouan's souks.
Travel to the town of Sbeitla fringed by olive groves and arable fields. Take lunch at Hotel Sufetula before visiting the historic Roman site of Sufetula. We continue our journey to Tozeur for dinner and overnight stay in your hotel.
Day Two
After breakfast we transport you to Tozeur, one of the country's most beautiful oases containing some 3000 palm trees. We then travel to the oasis town of Nefta, Tunisia's second holiest site after Kairouan. Sip a coffee in the Café de la Corbeille where you can enjoy the best views of the town before moving on to a Star Wars film set in the desert at Onc el Jemel. Return to Tozeur for lunch.
After lunch cross the Chott el Jerid Salt Lake to the Sahara gateway town of Douz for dinner and overnight in your hotel. (Take an optional sunset camel ride over the Sahara - supplement payable through the tour guide).
Day Three
After breakfast we make a brief visit to the market in Douz, then travel to Matmata for a visit to a Troglodyte Cave Dwelling and the Hotel Sidi Driss (which featured as Luke Skywalkers home in the film Star Wars). Then travel north to Gabes (visit the Spice market) and take lunch in Mahares.
Your journey continues north via Sfax (Tunisia's second largest city) to the Roman Coliseum at El Djem. After visiting the Roman Amphitheatre we take you back to your resort hotel.

- £295 per person based on 2 people booking (sharing one room) *
- £235 per person based on 3 people booking (sharing one room)
- £199 per person based on 4 people booking (sharing two rooms).
Single occupancy accommodation supplement = £29 per person.

- Optional sunset camel ride over the Sahara (approx. £9 payable through the guide).
* This tour is based on a minimum of two persons and a maximum of four persons booking per vehicle.
** Guests staying in one of the hotels on Christmas Eve and/or New Years Eve are required to pay an additional supplement for mandatory festive gala dinners. Hotels in Tozeur charge: £45 per person for Christmas Eve and £59 pp for New Years Eve. Hotels in Douz charge: £35 pp for Christmas Eve and £45 pp for New Years Eve.
