The Carthage Coast - Sidi Bou Said, La Marsa & Gammarth
(transfer time from Tunis Airport - 15 minutes)

Often compared to the French Riviera, the Carthage Coast region features the more sophisticated resorts of Sidi Bou Said, Gammarth and La Marsa. Ideal for travellers seeking a relaxing holiday by the beach with easy access to the hustle and bustle of Tunis and the ancient city of Carthage.

Sidi Bou Said, situated on a headland overlooking the Mediterranean, is an attractive village of blue and white stepped buildings. Stroll along cobbled streets taking in shops, rest awhile in a typical Moorish café and enjoy French-Tunisian cuisine with breathtaking views over the Bay of Tunis at Restaurant Dar Zarrouk. Gammarth (15-20 km from Tunis) is a seaside resort surrounded by dense forest with modern hotels alongside superb sandy beaches. La Marsa is a chic coastal suburb featuring a promenade lined with French colonial villas, a small selection of hotels and classy restaurants. Do visit the curious Saf Saf café, famous for its well and the camel that draws the water using a bucket waterwheel (noria).
