The Hotel Dakyanus, opened in 1997, is located on the new touristic route
just outside the town of Tataouine and 110 kms from Djerba International
Airport. Dakyanus domain (a hotel orchard) stretches over 10 hectares
on the best land of the area in a place named El Ferch, the bed of a river
which disappeared underground leaving excellent drinking water serving
the hotel and the town.
Description:
The Dakyanus is the base from which you can take one of several adventure
tours either on foot, by mountain bike, horseback or camel which can
be organised through Tunisia First. Through an impressive entrance you'll
find the hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens with a back drop of
mountainous scenery and neighbouring oases. Colourful Bedouin camping
tents and a magnificent (semi-olympic) swimming pool are housed within
the grounds. In the main building three restaurants serving Tunisian and
international cuisine. The main guest restaurant "la Mida" serves,
breakfast, lunch and dinner. There's a snack bar with nice terrace overlooking
the pool offering pizzas and traditional dishes. "Le tajine"
is a small a la carte restaurant with a warm and intimate atmosphere for
just 30 persons. A central bar and pool bar complete the list of amenities.
For sport and leisure you can participate in aerobics, aquatic gym, archery,
tennis and table tennis. The Dakyanus is a great venue for sales and incentive
conferences and has a seminar room with a capacity of 250, with audio-visual
equipment.
