Tunis (transfer time from Tunis Airport - 15 minutes)

Ideal for a short break: Tunis, capital of Tunisia, is a dynamic city where history and modernity intertwine.

The Medina - historic centre and UNESCO World Heritage Site - with its winding streets, vaulted passageways and impressive monuments has remained largely unchanged for 500 years. The animated souks surrounding the prestigious 9th century Zitouna Mosque offer the opportunity to haggle for gold, perfume and many other souvenirs. Enjoy sumptuous restaurants and panoramic views of old Tunis from the rooftop terraces in the Medina.

The European quarter constructed at the beginning of the 20th century forms the centre of the present-day city. The narrow streets offer a picturesque mixture of all the architectural styles of the period and Avenue Bourguiba, renovated in more recent years and lined by sparrow-inhabited ficus trees, forms the backbone of this quarter.

Tunis bustles with constant activity, between fashion boutiques and antiquated shops, old-fashioned cake shops and cafés.
